DTE crews were out in Detroit, on Tireman Street and Epworth Avenue, replacing an old damaged pole to improve reliability for local homes and businesses. The new pole will be upgraded with a crossarm made of fiberglass and metal, which makes it more durable. The insulator will also be upgraded to a polymer model which is a stronger material than the previous porcelain model. Our crews take pride in building infrastructure that is more resilient to the elements, decreasing the likelihood of future storms causing power outages in the community.
You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short- and long term.
Make sure to regularly check the Detroit – District 6 community page to learn more about what’s going on in your neighborhood. You can also follow DTE on Facebook and Twitter for even more updates and information.
