A DTE Crew was out in Detroit on State Street and Washington Boulevard making improvements to the electrical grid. After inspecting a manhole and ensuring it was safe to enter, they descended underground to shorten an excessively long cable. The longer a cable is, the more opportunities there are for damage. This work will decrease the chance of power disruptions, as well as make repairs more efficient if underground issues do arise, improving the quality of service for Detroiters.

You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short- and long term.

Make sure to regularly check the Detroit – District 6 community page to learn more about what’s going on in your neighborhood. You can also follow DTE on Facebook and Twitter for even more updates and information.
