Throughout COVID-19, jobs have been impacted in every industry.

Especially in today’s times, businesses are focused on helping others, but with a tight economy, many had to make the difficult decision to furlough or layoff valued team members.

To help, the DTE Foundation awarded Goodwill a $15,000 grant for its Second Chance Employee Relief Program. The funds went to 160 employees and trainees who participate in Goodwill’s workforce development programs. This relief supports individuals and their families in paying rent/mortgage, monthly bills, and food and groceries.  Many of these employees shifted their work to include making personal protective equipment kits, including gloves, sanitizer, and masks for local businesses during the pandemic.
