DTE crews were recently dispatched to Grayhaven Marina Village, located near Keelson Drive and Avondale Street, after animal interference and turbulent weather caused an underground cable failure. Crews initially transferred the community’s power to a secondary source and have now returned to repair the underground system. This comes with challenges such as locating the exact fault point in an 1800-foot cable, with a portion of it extending underneath a channel of Detroit River. Once our crews determine the severity of the issue, they will either repair the cable or pull it out and replace it with a new one. This is another example of the hard work our crews put in daily to create a brighter future for Detroiters.

You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short and long term.

Make sure to regularly check the Detroit – District 6 community page to learn more about what’s going on in your neighborhood. You can also follow DTE on Facebook and Twitter for even more updates and information.
