Good news Farmington customers! DTE’s recent investment of $70 million in tree trimming is coming to fruition right now in your community. Earlier this week, tree trimming crews were working in a neighborhood near Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School to clear branches off of power lines. They cleared out overgrown areas in a nearby ravine.

Did you know?:

  • Trees are responsible an overwhelming majority of outages during high wind events. In areas where tree trimming has already been completed, there have been about 60% fewer outages.
  • The  $70 million investment into tree trimming efforts are on top of the $190 million DTE already spends on tree trimming annually.

You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short- and long-term.

Make sure to regularly check the Farmington community page to learn more about what’s going on in your neighborhood. You can also follow DTE on Facebook and Twitter for even more updates and information.
