Many customers in Inkster will be happy to hear that tree trim crews were working throughout their community improving reliability. One specific location was just west of Beech Daly on Tobin Street in the Dearborn View apartment complex. While these apartments are technically in Inkster, this work will also improve reliability for Dearborn Heights on the other side of Beech Daly. Our team carefully and safely removed overgrown branches off main lines which will greatly reduce the chances of outages the next time inclement weather comes.

DID YOU KNOW: DTE invested an additional $90 million toward tree trimming last year, following last year’s historic storms that resulted in outages for our customers. This investment is in addition to the $190 million we currently spend on tree trimming annually. Read more about our tree trimming initiative here.

You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short and long-term.

Make sure to regularly check the Inkster community page to learn more about what’s going on in your neighborhood. You can also follow DTE on Facebook and Twitter for even more updates and information.
