Tree trim crews were out again this week all over the Oakland County service territory, especially in places like Birmingham. One example of where this work was done was on Hazel Street between Seton and Columbia in the Birmingham Villa subdivision. Overgrown branches were removed safely off mainlines and brush was cleared back so the system is less likely to be compromised the next time inclement weather strikes.

This is part of DTE’s $90 million investment and continued commitment to tree trimming efforts across the communities. If trees are creating a safety hazard near your residence, please report it to DTE. If trees are growing near the lines, but aren’t causing an immediate safety issue, they’ll be trimmed in accordance with our ongoing maintenance schedule.

You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short and long term.

Make sure to regularly check the Oakland County community page to learn more about what’s going on in your neighborhood. You can also follow DTE on Facebook and Twitter for even more updates and information.
