Our crews are working to implement our four-point plan to increase reliability and strengthen the infrastructure for electric customers. Key parts of this plan include rebuilding some of the oldest parts of our grid, tree trimming, accelerating our transition to a smart grid and upgrading our existing infrastructure. In addition to improving reliability, much of this work will help increase safety and the grid’s capacity to handle future electrical demand.
Our crews were recently in Allen Park performing upgrades to parts of our infrastructure that provide power for residents. Crews replaced old cross arms with fiberglass crossarms, which play a crucial role in supporting insulators, conductors and other pole-top equipment.
