In 2025, DTE’s Renewable Energy team celebrated many achievements, including two new solar parks coming online and starting construction on two additional solar parks. Three of these four solar parks are coming to fruition as a result of customer enrollments in DTE’s voluntary renewable energy program, MIGreenPower. The program enables customers to attribute their electricity use to DTE’s wind and solar parks throughout Michigan while supporting the development of future renewable energy projects.

On April 15, 2025, DTE broke ground on the 100-megawatt Cold Creek Solar Park in Branch County, Michigan. Cold Creek Solar is being built to support Ford Motor Company’s commitment to attribute 100% of the electricity used by its Michigan manufacturing facilities to renewable energy through DTE’s MIGreenPower program.

On April 25, 2025, DTE celebrated completing construction on the 80-megawatt Pine River Solar Park in Gratiot County, Michigan. Pine River Solar has more than 180,000 solar panels and generates enough clean energy to power nearly 20,000 homes.

On June 11, 2025, DTE celebrated completing construction on the 100-megawatt Polaris Solar Park in Gratiot County, Michigan. Polaris Solar has more than 230,000 solar panels and generates enough clean energy to power more than 23,000 homes.

On October 27, 2025, DTE and the City of Detroit came together to celebrate breaking ground on the Van Dyke/Lynch Solar Park, one of five solar parks the City is developing as part of its Neighborhood Solar InitiativeLocated on 42 acres of vacant lots in Detroit, the Van Dyke/Lynch Solar Park will generate 10 megawatts of clean energy when it comes online in June 2026, the equivalent of powering more than 2,000 homes. This clean energy generation will offset a portion of the electricity required to operate City buildings such as City Hall, recreation centers, and police and fire stations. DTE will also provide residents near the Van Dyke/Lynch Solar Park with up to $15,000 in home energy efficiency upgrades.

DTE’s renewable energy projects not only support our customers’ energy needs but also provide numerous benefits to Michigan communities in the form of local tax revenue and job creation. In 2026, we plan to bring four additional solar parks online, continuing our progression toward the State of Michigan’s goal of 60% renewable energy by 2035 and our ultimate goal of net zero carbon emissions.
