Recently, crews were dispatched to W. Huron River Drive and [street name] to trim back branches that were encroaching on power lines without causing damage to the trees. Tree trimming usually requires lane closures on the street, but the crews pictured below were able to trim standing on the ground to keep traffic flowing.

Though the snow will soon fly, we will continue to trim trees and perform other infrastructure upgrades throughout the winter months and into 2024. Tree trimming is underway in multiple locations in Ann Arbor to mitigate the effect that extreme weather can have on our system, improving reliability for customers.
