DTE Energy wants everyone in Gaylord impacted by the May 20 tornado to know that we’re here to help.

You’ve probably seen us around town – from the day the tornado struck when we secured natural gas lines to ensure leaks wouldn’t add to safety concerns – through today, when we are restoring damaged gas lines around your homes and businesses. We assure you that the cost of this infrastructure work will not be passed on to you or your neighbors.

We know you may have a long road of rebuilding ahead. If you currently don’t have natural gas service attached to your building due to the tornado, please know that we are standing by to reconnect your service when you are ready. There will be NO CHARGE to reconnect you — we are waiving the normal reconnect charges in light of the disruption you have faced. Just give us a call at 616.632.2687 for residential service or 616.632.2679 for business service, and we’ll prioritize getting your service restored.

KEEPING YOU SAFE

And we want to help ensure you’re safe when you’re digging. Whether you’re restoring your property or simply doing landscaping, please remember to reach out to MISS DIG. Call 811 or visit missdig811.org at least three business days before beginning any digging projects. Plus, if you smell gas, leave the area immediately. Call 911 and then DTE’s gas leak hotline at 800-947-5000.
