DTE contractor crews were recently in Macomb County’s Center Line, near 10 Mile and Van Dyke Road, replacing a utility pole originally installed in 1949. Our team also upgraded the new pole by installing polymer insulators, which is a stronger material than the previous pole’s glass insulators. What are insulators? They are a vital piece of equipment that supports electric wires while preventing them from coming into contact with each other or the pole.
