DTE contractor crews were recently in Macomb County’s Center Line, near 10 Mile and Van Dyke Road, replacing a utility pole originally installed in 1949. Our team also upgraded the new pole by installing polymer insulators, which is a stronger material than the previous pole’s glass insulators. What are insulators? They are a vital piece of equipment that supports electric wires while preventing them from coming into contact with each other or the pole. As technology progresses and energy needs expand, DTE is committed to updating the grid with the highest quality of infrastructure, improving power reliability for the community.
