DTE Energy is committed to building a stronger, more resilient grid. One way we do this is by making upgrades to key parts of our infrastructure.
Specifically, at the corner of Clarkston Road and Baldwin Court near Clarkston, our crews have been busy executing these upgrades. Multiple poles will be installed here and the surrounding area. Along with the poles, new pole top upgrades will also be installed, including cross arms, connectors, and transformers. This will increase the stability of service in the area by providing modern, stronger equipment that is better suited to handle the increased load in the area. Expect to see an increase in performance with these upgrades, especially during extreme weather situations.
Upgrading infrastructure is crucial to minimizing outages and enhancing grid resilience and reliability. Through equipment modernization, DTE is fortifying the system to meet future energy demands. Our commitment to these upgrades ensures customers receive reliable service well into the future.
Our commitment to customers is to reduce power outages by 30% and to cut outage durations in half by the end of 2029.
Upgrading work is part of DTE’s plan to build the grid of the future. That plan, now well underway, includes transitioning to a smart grid, upgrading existing infrastructure, rebuilding significant portions of the grid and trimming trees.
