DTE Energy is working toward building a stronger electric grid. One way we can accomplish this is by upgrading key pieces of our infrastructure to improve the overall grid.
In Davisburg, at the intersection of Parker Road and Eagle Road, our crews were busy recently installing a new pole along with cross arms and connectors to the top of this pole. Jobs like this occur when other crews in the field patrol areas and locate pieces of equipment due for an upgrade or replacement.
By continuing with this initiative, we can ensure that the reliability of our grid is better moving forward. With new, more modern and durable equipment installed, customers can expect to see an increase in electrical performance, especially during extreme weather situations. Enhancing infrastructure is key to reducing outages and improving grid resilience and reliability.
DTE Energy is dedicated to constructing a smarter, stronger and more resilient grid to enhance reliability. Our commitment to customers is to reduce power outages by 30% and to cut outage durations in half by the end of 2029.
Upgrading work is part of DTE’s plan to build the grid of the future. That plan, now well underway, includes transitioning to a smart grid, upgrading existing infrastructure, rebuilding significant portions of the grid and trimming trees.
