Overhead crews recently worked in the Arden Park neighborhood, replacing outdated cross arms of a utility pole near Cameron Street and Westminster Avenue. The previous cross arms were made of wood, while the new cross arms are fiberglass material. What’s the difference? Wood is heavier and wears away over time while fiberglass is lighter and more durable. This update is another step toward improving the DTE electric grid in Detroit.

You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short and long term.

Make sure to regularly check the Detroit – District 6 community page to learn more about what’s going on in your neighborhood. You can also follow DTE on Facebook and Twitter for even more updates and information.
