DTE tree trim crews continue to make reliability improvements throughout the West Bloomfield community. Work was done recently near Middle Straits Lake off the corner of Haggerty and Richardson. In fact, while our crews were seen along the entrance of Bay Pointe Golf Club, the work will also benefit customers in the adjacent neighborhood on Detroit Blvd. and Hazel Terrace. Our crews worked safely and efficiently to remove overgrown branches from DTE main lines. This work will improve reliability for thousands of customers that live in this neighborhood.

50% of the time our customers spend without power is due to problems with trees interfering with power equipment.  This and the historically stormy summer of 2021 is why DTE made a $90 million investment to accelerate tree trimming efforts across ALL the communities we serve.   You can read more about that initiative here.

You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short and long term.

Make sure to regularly check the West Bloomfield community page to learn more about what’s going on in your neighborhood. You can also follow DTE on Facebook and Twitter for even more updates and information.
