Both our overhead and underground crews are key when residential construction is taking place. In Plymouth we are working to implement our four-point plan which focuses on improving reliability across the area by work such as tree trimming, rebuilding portions of the grid, updating existing infrastructure, and upgrading to smart grid technology. Along with this, there are still new homes being built that need reliable power. The pole pictured below will have a secondary line running through it. Secondary lines provide electric service for residential and small commercial customers. This job took place on Sunset Street in Plymouth and once our overhead crews were finished installing the new pole and tying the required wires to it, our underground crews came in to provide the underground servicing required to power the new home.
We’ve made significant investments into the grid to improve your power in 2023 and we will continue to do so into 2024. Building a world-class grid for our customers will take time – but the investment is critical for Michigan’s future. If you’d like to see more of the work being done in your community?
