You may now qualify for energy assistance – even if you didn’t before. Apply now.

Expanded support is now available through the Michigan Energy Assistance Program (MEAP) and it could make a real difference for you or your family. With this expansion, households earning up to 60% of the state median income (approximately $70,000 annually for a family of four) are now eligible for MEAP funds – opening the door to assistance for even more Michiganders.

If you’re having trouble keeping up with your energy bill – or think you might be soon – we encourage you to take the first step today.

Here’s how to get started:

  1. Complete the State Emergency Relief application
  2. Connect with a local energy assistance agency to see if you qualify for expanded assistance like MEAP. A list of agencies can be found online at dteenergy.com/help.
