Balancing your carbon footprint is easier than you might think with Natural Gas Balance, and enrolling this month gets you a bonus for your community.
Natural Gas Balance gives you the chance to balance up to 100% of an average home’s emissions from everyday natural gas usage when you enroll in the program. Your contributions help protect forests across 13 counties in the Upper Peninsula and fund the advancement of renewable natural gas in Michigan.
Hundreds of your neighbors are already enrolled. If an additional 80 customers in your community enroll in Natural Gas Balance by August 31, DTE will plant 10 large landscaping trees in Greilickville Harbor Park and Cherry Bend Community Park as a celebration of residents’ commitment to sustainability. This will add to the 10 trees that we just planted in the area this year; we just planted trees at Traverse City’s Civic Center in April.
By enrolling this month, not only will you balance your carbon emissions, but you’ll help to beautify your community. These parks are key community gathering spaces that offer baseball and soccer fields, harbors, public beaches and more. Adding trees will help keep these parks thriving for the communities they serve.
The key to unlocking new trees in your community is enrolling in Natural Gas Balance by August 31. Enroll on our website or by calling 833.628.4270 today to start balancing your carbon footprint and planting trees!
