26 years ago, Xperience Communications set out to connect the biggest companies in the world with their audience.

Today, their clients rely on them to create a “brand experience” and inspire action, but it was one of their own clients that turned the tables and inspired Xperience to act.

“We saw the announcement that Ford had joined DTE’s MIGreenPower initiative to create more Michigan-made clean energy,” said Joe Francis, Director at Xperience. “It was the Michigan-made, local aspect that really mattered to us.”

Shortly thereafter, Francis enrolled Xperience in the MIGreenPower program—an initiative many of his colleagues have also joined as residential customers.

Now, all Xperience locations attribute a portion of their energy use to wind and solar energy produced right here in Michigan.

“It’s a wise investment in our community—in our state—in our future,” says Francis.

Participants in the MIGreenPower program directly fund the creation of more renewable energy statewide, reducing Michigan’s overall carbon footprint, creating jobs, and helping DTE to completely stop the use of coal by 2032—just six short years from now.

Additionally, DTE has made this program accessible to every electric customer who wants to participate in Michigan’s clean energy future with plans as low as $1 a month.

“Find a way,” said Francis, echoing one of the Xperience core values.

At DTE, the way we reach our clean energy goals is by creating more Michigan-made renewable energy, and by joining the MIGreenPower program, you can be a part of our journey.
