As Earth Week 2020 comes to a close and we move into the weekend, we wanted to share this podcast that talks about DTE’s transition toward a clean energy future. For this episode, Detroit journalist and radio personality Craig Fahle speaks with Irene Dimitry, vice president, Renewable Energy for DTE to learn more about DTE’s plans to add more wind and solar energy to its portfolio and what those plans mean for our company, customers and the state of Michigan.

Craig also takes a deeper dive into the topic of wind energy with DTE’s Renewable Energy Manager Matt Wagner and wildlife expert Amanda Ignatowski to talk about turbine operation and siting practices and the various steps the company takes to minimize interaction between the turbines and wildlife.

Earlier this week, DTE announced that its 15th wind park, Polaris Wind, is now operational, generating enough clean energy to power 64,000 homes. Polaris is the first of four new wind parks DTE will bring online in 2020. The company’s renewable energy portfolio also includes 31 solar parks with more planned to come online by 2023.
