DTE families in Saline are about to get a lot of new neighbors in a new subdivision being built, and our overhead crews were there last week ensuring these homes will be prepared to get the power they need. The new homes are going up just off Michigan Ave. on the south side of Austin Rd. Our team worked, with rain clouds quickly approaching (pictured below), to install a couple of new cable poles that will feed into the future neighborhood.

You can learn more about cable poles here.

DID YOU KNOW: In smaller subdivisions, one cable pole can feed the neighborhood. In larger subdivisions, two cable poles are installed to support the energy needs. Essentially the sub is split in half with each being served by a dedicated pole.

You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short- and long-term.

Make sure to regularly check the Washtenaw County community page to learn more about what’s going on in your neighborhood. You can also follow DTE on Facebook and Twitter for even more updates and information.
