Overhead crews were out in Lyon Township today installing equipment upgrades after high winds caused damage and some outages to the system over the weekend. Customers in the area driving along Pontiac Trail (between Glynn Lee Ct. and Pine Tree Dr.) would have seen both DTE and contract crews working together to first restore power and then make the necessary upgrades to prevent it from happening again soon. You can see in the photo below the aftermath of wind damage on the ground and the new pole, crossarms, fuses and connectors already installed and ready to better support our DTE mainlines.
You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short and long term.
