Sometimes freak accidents happen, even when there’s not a storm. Such a case happened to a Troy customer whose large, front yard tree suddenly fell last week bringing down electrical lines with it. The utility pole near the exposed roots of the tree was also compromised. DTE overhead crews were quick to respond and make the area safe. They also took the opportunity to upgrade the utility pole and equipment on it. This work was done on Vermont Ave. off John R. Thankfully, no one was hurt and the improved equipment will improve reliability for the dozens of customers along this street.

You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short- and long-term.
