DTE is an active participant in coalitions that advocate for strong environmental public policies. We use our membership in the CEO Climate Dialogue (CCD) as a platform to advocate for effective policy solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase clean energy generation. CCD is a group of 21 companies with more than $1.4 trillion in combined annual revenue, and four leading environmental nonprofit organizations that are committed to advancing climate action and durable federal climate policy in the U.S. Congress. Specifically, the group aims to build bipartisan support for climate policies that will reduce climate risk and spur the investment needed to meet science-based emissions reduction targets.

Additionally, our partnership with the Carbon-Free Technology Initiative is focused on supporting federal policies that ensure the availability of affordable, carbon-free, 24/7 power technology options to help our industry meet net-zero carbon reduction commitments. Federal policies are an essential catalyst to accelerate innovation and help us meet the challenge of addressing climate change. While we’re utilizing existing technologies to reach our goals, we’re also working with Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) and its Low Carbon Research Initiative to develop new technologies that will ultimately drive our clean energy future.
