You may have recently noticed DTE contractor crews working along Mound Road between 11 Mile and 12 Mile. These crews are preparing the electric grid for road reconstruction and improving reliability while doing so. The road work, titled the “Innovate Mound Project,” will enhance traffic flow by updating Mound Road between I-696 north and M-59, as well as widening it to four lanes between 17 Mile Road and M-59. To make room for the additional lanes, our team safely removed multiple poles that stood on the Mound Road meridian and will install new poles on the East side of the road. Our crews will upgrade these poles with new connectors, cabling, fuses and crossarms, further strengthening our infrastructure and system reliability.
