A tree fell and caused a power line to catch fire last week in a neighborhood off Grand River in Detroit, resulting in a small-scale outage and safety hazard for nearby residents. A DTE overhead crew quickly came out to secure the hazard and replace the burnt line.

“Our first priority was to cut the power line down to keep the public safe because it was on the ground and still energized,” said Gary, one of our linemen working onsite.

After resolving the safety hazard, the crew was able to install a new line and restore power to this neighborhood. Watch the short video below to see one of our crew members start working to fix the issue:
