While our crews are working hard to improve the community’s reliability, they are also sometimes called upon to handle the consequences of animals interfering with electric infrastructure. Recently, a Farmington Hills business, near 8 Mile and Osmus Avenue, lost power due to a bird causing two overhead fuses to blow. Within two hours of the business owner calling DTE, our crews had safely removed the bird and carefully installed new fuses. This restored the business’s electricity and returned the powerline back to optimal condition.

You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short and long term.

Make sure to regularly check the Farmington Hills community page to learn more about what’s going on in your neighborhood. You can also follow DTE on Facebook and Twitter for even more updates and information.
