Recycling old appliances like a refrigerator, freezer, dehumidifier, or air conditioner could save you up to $80 or more each year in energy costs. DTE’s appliance recycling program will pick up your old refrigerator or freezer for free and give you $50. Replacing that appliance with one that is ENERGY STAR-certified could save you nearly $260 over the lifetime of the appliance while helping you reduce climate change.
