A crew was in Detroit, near Woodward Avenue and West Alexandrine Street, preparing the underground system for an equipment upgrade. They cut out underground secondary cables so cable pullers can safely remove an older cable and bring in a newer one. Next, cable splicers will install the advanced cable, enhancing the quality of underground infrastructure and improving power reliability for Detroit homes and businesses.
You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short- and long term.
