A neighborhood in West Bloomfield got a power upgrade last week as DTE crews replaced old utility poles with new poles featuring new and upgraded equipment. The team framed the sturdier new poles with fiberglass crossarms, new connectors and a more heavy-duty transformer. This work will improve the quality and reliability of service for nearly a dozen homes on this street, since the new transformer is capable of handling a greater load. These upgrades were installed in the backyard of a customer’s home near the corner of Henry and Commerce.
You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short- and long-term.
