Two tree trimming crews worked on clearing tree branches along Muer Cove off Drake Rd. Recently, the crews have been working all over the Farmington Hills area as part of frequent maintenance that is needed to keep tree growth under control. The specific tree seen in the photo is an elm, which fortunately for this crew, is a softer wood which makes it easier to trim. Unless the branch is very thick, a hand saw can easily be used by trimmers to cut through this type of tree. Trimmers make sure each branch is kept a certain length away from primary and secondary lines so they pose less of an issue to keeping your power on during storms.
You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short- and long term.
