DTE dispatched crews all over Rochester Hills last week to improve reliability for customers. One of those places was on Alsdorf St. near Crooks. Arborists worked along main lines in the backyards of about a dozen homes. This work will better protect the poles and lines near you, helping make sure you have the power you need, when you need it.
In late 2021, DTE made a $90 million investment to accelerate its tree trimming efforts across the communities it serves to prevent outages during heavy storms. You can read more about that initiative here. Highlights include:
- Accelerating tree trimming work for the communities hardest hit by storms last fall
- Providing additional funds to our ongoing tree trimming program, resulting in an additional 3,500 line miles of trees trimmed. We have already trimmed 20,000 miles more aggressively, which is almost one time around the world!
- Increasing our tree trim workforce by 30%
You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short- and long-term.
