A DTE crew completed a power line repair on the corner of Grande Street and East Kirby Avenue in response to a leaning tree that had damaged and displaced a primary wire. Our crews took measures to ensure public safety by cutting the wire down and trimming the trees, which should prevent future interference with the power lines. Once the hazard was cleared, DTE linemen ascended in a bucket truck to install the wire back on to the overhead system. This process improves this power line’s reliability, decreasing the likelihood of future storms causing power outages in the community.
You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short- and long term.
