Good news, Bloomfield Hills! DTE dispatched tree trimming crews throughout your community last week to improve your service. The work seen in the photos below was off W. Maple and Covington by Quarton Lake Estates.
In late 2021, DTE made a $90 million investment into tree trimming across metro Detroit to prevent outages during heavy storms, making it less likely that limbs will fall and come in contact with our lines. You can read more about that initiative here. Highlights include:
- Accelerating tree trimming work for the communities hardest hit by storms last fall
- Providing additional funds to our ongoing tree trimming program, resulting in an additional 3,500 line miles of trees trimmed. We have already trimmed 20,000 miles more aggressively, which is almost one time around the world!
- Increasing our tree trim workforce by 30%
You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short- and long-term.
Make sure to regularly check the Bloomfield Hills community page to learn more about what’s going on in your neighborhood. You can also follow DTE on Facebook and Twitter for even more updates and information.
