DTE cable splicers and pullers worked together to continue the ongoing work of upgrading underground systems in Detroit. Recently, cable splicers descended underground to install a new connector in a manhole. This was preparation for the cable pullers (pictured above) to remove old cables and install new ones. The splicers will then connect the new equipment to the underground system, enhancing the reliability of power for an entire block of Detroit customers.

You may see more of our crews in the coming months as part of our accelerated electric reliability projects in your area, including more tree trimming and infrastructure updates. All these projects are underway to improve your service and reliability for the short- and long term.
