The holiday season kicks off on Friday, Nov. 18 with Light Up Beacon Park! This two-part celebration offers something for everyone.
Come early for a family-friendly experience from 5–9 p.m. where you can watch the Children’s Tree come to life with thousands of twinkling LED lights and ornaments decorated by Detroit children and families. Guests can also enjoy a visit with Santa, meet live reindeer, ride the toy train, listen to music and catch the live broadcast of the 19th Annual Detroit Tree Lighting at Campus Martius
The festivities are set to continue from 9-11 p.m. with drummer and percussionist extraordinaire, Aisha Ellis, performing live with her trio!
Free shuttles will be running between Beacon Park and Detroit’s 19th Annual Tree Lighting at Campus Martius from 4:30 p.m. – midnight.
In addition to Light Up Beacon Park, families and children of all ages are invited to experience “Toyland,” which debuts on Friday, Nov. 18 and runs through Monday, Jan. 16, 2023—with larger-than-life light features, including a choo-hoo train, giant teddy bear, and other photo-worthy attractions.
As part of “Toyland,” Beacon Park will host rides on the toy train on select Saturdays between Thanksgiving and Christmas from 5-8 p.m. Rides are free for kids of all ages.
