Three Detroit Windmills will be on display at Beacon Park from August 5 – August 29. These low-altitude wind turbines are a combination of interactive, functional, and beautiful public art made from upcycled materials. Made in Detroit by artist and master craftsman Carlos Nielbock, these windmills represent a new model in sustainable development and the future of green energy. While on display at Beacon Park, visitors can interact with special features on the windmills like sound, light, and power, as well as learn about microgrids and wind energy.
This art installation is sponsored by the DTE Beacon Park Foundation and programmed in partnership with the Downtown Detroit Partnership.
