The Beacon Park Garden Tour will educate visitors about plants and trees at the park. This event will be led by the park’s landscaper, Ed Ashcraft, who will lead a group of visitors through the Beacon Park gardens. At the end of the tour, visitors are invited to plant a bulb at the park.
Connected to All: Environment + People + Community will bring Detroit artists from all corners of the City to convene around sustainability and the environment at Beacon Park to share their work with the public. A juried outdoor art exhibition featuring artists from the Detroit Fine Arts Breakfast Club and beyond. Artworks from painting, photography, prints, and other unique art forms that will be available for view and sale. Works will be displayed safely outdoors, beneath a tent pavilion. The exhibition is organized and executed by Nas Sorrell.
Detroit-based Pink Elephant Events will offer educational sessions throughout the weekend, offering parkgoers information about recycling and composting.

April 22, 1 – 2 p.m.: Beacon Park Garden Tour with Ed Ashcraft
April 22, 1 – 7 p.m.: Opening reception with artists and remarks by the Beacon Park Manager and the curatorial committee
April 23, Noon – 7 p.m.: Exhibit open with artists present
April 24, Noon – 5 p.m.: Exhibit open with artists present
