DTE Energy is dedicated to constructing a smarter, stronger and more resilient grid to enhance reliability. Our commitment to customers is to reduce power outages by 30% and to cut outage durations in half by 2029.

As we work to continue building a stronger grid, our crews were recently in Novi performing upgrades to the area’s infrastructure. Specifically, at the corner of Novi Road and Main Street, crews were doing some important work. On this day, our crew dropped in a brand-new pole, along with cross arms and connectors to the top of the pole. Additionally, a new transformer was also installed to this location to round out the job. Upgrades such as these will be taking place at more locations around Novi and they’re crucial in our plan to upgrade our infrastructure. These new pieces of equipment will provide the area with a better performing grid, specifically during extreme weather conditions.

By upgrading equipment, DTE is strengthening the current system and preparing for the rising electricity demands of the future. Our commitment to these efforts guarantees that our customers will continue to enjoy the reliable service they depend on.

Upgrading work is part of DTE’s plan to build the grid of the future. That plan, now well underway, includes transitioning to a smart grid, upgrading existing infrastructure, rebuilding significant portions of the grid and trimming trees.
