Tree trimming crews were recently working in Wayne County’s Redford Township near Farley Street and Plymouth Road. Our team cut off overgrown branches that may interact with power lines during heavy storms. This is the fastest way to improve reliability in your neighborhood, helping keep you in power regardless of turbulent weather conditions.

In late 2021, DTE made a $90 million investment to accelerate tree trimming efforts across the communities it serves, helping prevent outages during heavy storms.

Highlights include:

  • Accelerating tree trimming work for communities hardest hit by storms last fall
  • Increasing our tree trim workforce by 30%
  • Trimming 5,700 miles of trees near power lines — more than the distance from Detroit to Hawaii — in the last year alone

If trees are creating a safety hazard near your home, please report it to DTE here. We prioritize safety concerns based on the severity of the hazard.
