Blue skies, temps nudging the 80s, the days getting longer – the Michigan summer everyone dreamed of in mid-January is finally here. DTE Energy is helping ensure there’s fun on the agenda every week this summer by supporting free events at Beacon Park in downtown Detroit as well as at dozens of community celebrations statewide.
Opened in 2017 and expecting a million visitors this year, Detroit’s newest public space, Beacon Park is already among the city’s most popular spots. Save the dates for two free concerts – Metro Detroit’s own, JR JR will kick off the Park’s summer concert series on Saturday, June 16, at 6:30 pm. And, on Saturday, July 21, join in celebrating the one-year anniversary of the Park with international headliners Saint Motel. In the meantime, local DJs will spin contemporary tunes at Beacon Park for Friday after-work parties. Beacon Park will be alive day and night with events and activities all summer long including night markets, food truck rallies and more.
