- DTE technicians must be able to easily access your meter to perform periodic safety checks and routine maintenance, as well as manage critical tasks in an emergency. Keep a clear path and avoid blocking the meter with walls, decks or fencing.
- Decrease the risk of CO build up in your home by trimming tall grass, weeds and greenery around your meter as well as natural gas exhaust and air intakes.
- Careful with that lawnmower! Hitting or bumping your natural gas meter can damage the meter and even cause a gas leak.
- When DTE or URG contacts you for an indoor meter safety inspection, please schedule an appointment at your earliest convenience to maintain safe, reliable natural gas service.
