In the shadow of downtown Detroit, just south of the old Tiger Stadium, Mercy Education Project (MEP) is empowering hundreds of disadvantaged women and at-risk girls through education, in order to help break the cycle of poverty and become self-sufficient in Southwest Detroit.

For the women and girls MEP serves, its facility is more than a building, but a home and safe space for students to achieve academic excellence, discover their passions, and set realistic goals for their future.

In 2018, DTE provided MEP with trained strategic staff to facilitate its Board Retreat, which was a strategic planning session. DTE’s expertise made a huge difference in the quality of MEP’s outcomes. Additionally, DTE staff has volunteered to facilitate team building and group development for both MEP staff and ts students.
