As a part of DTE Energy’s mission to be a force for good in the communities where the company and employees live and serve, the corporation encourages employees to give back, especially with their time.

DTE even set lofty goals of 5,000 volunteers, which earned it the title “best-in-class” in 2018. Last year, employees throughout Greater Michigan did an outstanding job sharing their time and talents with nonprofits across our service territories. To honor these employees, the volunteer team, in partnership with leadership, celebrated the following winners with a trophy presentation and lunch:

  • 2018 Greater Michigan Champion – Traverse City Hammond Office
  • 2018 Most Hours Logged – Traverse City CBO/Center
  • 2018 Employee with the Most Volunteer Hours – Kathy Affholder
  • 2018 Highest Percentage of Volunteers – Huron County Renewable Energy Center

“These groups surpassed our expectations by rallying their teams, planning events and raising their hands for volunteer projects,” said Tomara Nolen, manager, Corporate Volunteerism. “They chose to put their time and energy into volunteering and the company is proud that they embodied ’serving with energy’ to help those in need.”

It’s been a great year and DTE is proud to have these individuals on its team and looks forward to continuing the momentum 2020!
