Do you know someone who wants to start a career in a growing industry? Did you know over 110,000 Michiganders are employed in the energy sector? During Careers in Energy Week, October 18-22, DTE and the Michigan Energy Workforce Development Consortium (MEWDC) are hosting virtual events open to those looking for a new career. These range from Career Exploration events, panel discussions from employees in the industry, and job fairs. 

All events are free. 

DTE is hosting our own events throughout the week.  

  • Career awareness panels with employees representing Gas, Electric, STEM careers and nuclear will present to high school students on Monday and Friday. 
  • Our Gas Operations team will discuss job opportunities with job-ready adults in West Michigan on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

MI Energy Careers Exploration Fair 2021 

  • The MI Energy Career Exploration Fair is a virtual career exploration and resource fair where participants will learn about the breadth of industry employment, benefits of energy careers and career pathways. The event will inform and expose high school students, educators, parents and adult job seekers about energy careers and the multiple avenues and steps they can take to move into a career in energy.

MI Energy Careers Job Fair 2021 

  • The MI Energy Careers Job Fair is a chance to meet virtually with energy employers from around the state! If you are actively looking for a job or an internship, don’t forget to get your resumé into the hands of recruiters by uploading it when you register. Stroll the virtual booths and learn more about companies in your area and job openings that are available now or talk with representatives about their calendar for hiring.

MI Energy Careers Educational Pathways 2021 

  • MI Energy Careers Educational Pathways Panel Discussion is a virtual panel discussion for parents, youth, and job seekers with educational partners on their academic programs that relate to energy careers.

In addition, the Center for Energy Workforce Development is hosting EnergyCareers2021, which brings together experts across the nation for a day-long conference including breakout sessions, networking opportunities, and a job fair.
