We’re committed to reducing barriers to electric vehicles and preparing for widespread EV adoption to support the future of mobility. We are looking to partner with EV-related businesses with similar goals through our Emerging Tech Fund, a program looking to financially support novel EV solutions. Applications for the second round of our Emerging Tech Fund are now open.

We would like to congratulate our first-round grant winners:

  • It’s Electric – $100,000 to pilot a new curbside charging model
  • Bosch LLC – $100,000 for development of a V2X demonstrator
  • Forth Mobility – $100,000 for an EV car sharing pilot

Is your organization seeking funding to test or deploy an electric mobility solution, especially with a focus in any of the three areas listed below? If yes, please consider applying for a grant from DTE.

The three main types of grants that we will be funding are:

  1. Solutions that test cutting-edge EV grid integration solutions on our system (e.g., vehicle-to-building / -grid, wireless charging, active load management, etc.)
  2. Solutions that trial new and novel practices and/or approaches to engaging underserved communities (e.g., car-sharing)
  3. Solutions that test second life applications for used EV batteries

We have $600,000 in available funding remaining for 2023 projects, and there is no cap on the individual grant amounts. Although there is no cap on the grant amount that DTE can fund through this program, priority may be given to applications that demonstrate that they have obtained matching funding from another source and/or will be able to fully deploy their project within 2023.

We are accepting applications for our second round of funding, which closes on July 1, 2023. If you are interested in applying, please complete the following items:
