“What does it mean for jobs when it rains?” The question was posed to Mike, a DTE crew chief.

“It means we get wet,” he responded with a smile.

Rainy weather did not keep our DTE crews from working throughout Southeast Michigan to restore and maintain reliable power in areas impacted by the strong rain and winds this week. One of those areas was in the Northville/Farmington communities. One of our field crews responded to a downed power line that was damaged by a tree branch. The crew safely and efficiently repaired the downed line and, as is often the case, did some tree trimming to prevent a similar problem from happening again soon. Trees interfering with power lines remains the number a top reason our customers spend time without power, so trimming problem trees and branches is essential for building a more reliable electric grid.
