For a small business, energy savings can make a big difference for your bottom line. Being energy efficient not only helps the environment but could deliver potential savings for your business. Sunset Manor & Villages, an assisted living facility located on the west side of the state, joined the 2019 Battle of the Buildings competition and became a “biggest loser” for significantly reducing their energy usage. With the help of DTE Energy’s Business Efficiency program, Sunset Manor & Villages impressively cut their energy costs by 24% in the first year and saved $139,000 without compromising the comfort of their residents. Sunset Manor’s efficiency reduction efforts also qualified them to receive energy rebates.
The Michigan Battle of the Buildings, sponsored by DTE, is an awards and recognition program for energy use reduction open to all Michigan commercial, industrial & multi-family buildings. This program encourages energy-efficient practices in buildings across the state and drives a spirit of friendly competition among the building owners and operators. There is no cost to enter the competition, and building owners and operators have until March 31 to register for the 2020 Battle of the Buildings competition.
DTE Energy offers many energy optimization programs designed to reduce energy use through increased awareness and use of energy-saving technologies. DTE provides products such as rebates, tips, tools, strategies and energy efficiency education to help customers make informed energy savings decisions.
